COOL ROOF ELASTOMERIC WATERPROOF COATING

SCR600 Elastomeric Radiation Control Coating is an emulsion of high grade acrylic resins and silicone in water. It contains high-quality silicone particles encased in a high-grade acrylic emulsion. It dries by evaporation to yield a tough, velvety, non-yellowing, water repellent surface with exceptional abrasion resistance and ultra-violet light stability. When applied directly to rust will immediately convert iron oxide to iron phosphate upon contact, preventing further rusting problems. Unlike other coatings, it contains ceramic particles. These particles are the heat dissipating elements in SCR600 Elastomeric Radiation Control Coating that give it the ability to save on cooling cost. It is applied to yield a tough, water tight membrane. SCR600 Elastomeric Radiation Control Coating will take all universal tints, but must be restricted to the first shade of pastel colors on any color chart. Please Note: Do not use black pigmentation for tinting.

Application

Surfaces should be clean, dry and sound. Existing surface dirt, oil, tar, grease and mill film should be removed prior to application of SCR600 Elastomeric Radiation Control Coating. SCR600 can be applied by airless spray equipment or by brush/roller only. It should be applied evenly without build-up. Multiple coats are recommended, to a total wet film thickness of 1000 micron

All roof-preparation materials must be allowed to dry prior to application of the SCR600 coating. Immediately prior to application of the coating, all dust, dirt and other contaminants should be blown off the roof surfaces using compressed air. Cover the entire roof substrate as follows.

1. Apply the basecoat at a minimum thickness of 500 Micron

2. After allowing the basecoat to dry, apply the topcoat at a minimum rate of 2sq.m per 1 liter using a cross hatch technique. Apply the elastomeric coating by brush, roller or airless spray, using a multi pass spray technique to ensure even coating application to all sides of the substrate. Make a conscious effort to apply coating into crimped or pre-sealed vertical (side-lap) seams that have not been detailed.

3. The coating minimum dry-film thickness required at any location is 1000 micron. This is generally considered the minimum coating thickness for a 15 years product warranty. For extended coverage periods, additional coats and heavier film builds will be required.

Packing

20 Litre Pail

Storage

Store materials between 40°-90°F with careful handling to prevent damage to products. If conditions exceed these ranges, special consideration in storage must be taken. Do not store at high temperatures in direct sunlight. Shelf life under normal conditions in closed container will be 12 months.
