Polyurethane Flooring (Floorfort Pu)

Polyurethane Flooring

Organix Building System offers polyurethane flooring, a versatile, durable, and high-performance solution for industrial, commercial, and residential applications. Known for its seamless finish, superior flexibility, and exceptional resistance, it is ideal for areas exposed to heavy traffic, chemicals, and extreme environmental conditions.

Unlike traditional flooring materials, polyurethane flooring from Organix Building System provides enhanced durability, slip resistance, and crack-bridging capabilities, ensuring long-lasting protection and safety. Its moisture-resistant and UV-stable properties make it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

The Most Common Forms of Polyurethane Flooring Include:

  • Roller- and squeegee-applied floor coatings
  • Clear coats are used to protect surfaces from scratching
  • Varnishes for wooden floors
  • Thicker coatings applied with a trowel, typically 2–3 mm thick
  • Cement-based polyurethane floors, often applied at thicknesses of up to 1 cm

Compared to epoxy floors, polyurethane floors tend to be softer and offer greater elasticity.

Polyurethane Flooring: Where Are These Floors Installed?

Polyurethane flooring is widely used in environments where epoxy may not be suitable. One of the most common applications is in multi-storey car parks. Thanks to its elastic nature, polyurethane flooring provides a flexible, durable, and waterproof coating, making it ideal for protecting each level of a parking structure from wear and moisture.

This type of flooring is also an excellent choice for outdoor settings. While epoxy can deteriorate under UV exposure, aliphatic polyurethane flooring is UV-resistant and highly durable. Its flexibility makes it the perfect solution for surfaces that require both waterproofing and long-term protection for the underlying concrete.

In real-world applications, polyurethane flooring has been successfully installed in outdoor car parks, beach bars, decks, and even in high-traffic areas like loading ramps, offering a reliable and long-lasting surface solution.

Why Choose Polyurethane Flooring?

  • Polyurethane flooring stands out for its versatility, durability, and resilience. Unlike traditional flooring options, it offers excellent resistance to abrasion, chemicals, and temperature fluctuations. Its flexibility allows it to withstand structural movement without cracking, while its seamless finish provides an easy-to-clean, hygienic surface—ideal for commercial, industrial, and even residential applications. Whether for indoor or outdoor use, polyurethane floors deliver long-term performance with minimal maintenance, making them a cost-effective and high-performance flooring solution.

Application

For applying polyurethane flooring with FLOORFORT PU, start by thoroughly mixing both Part A and Part B components. Use a power mixer to blend the components for at least 2 to 5 minutes until you achieve a uniform color. Once mixed, pour the well-blended FLOORFORT PU in an S pattern across a 3 to 6-foot section of the deck. Spread it evenly to the desired thickness using a roller, squeegee, or notched trowel.

FLOORFORT PU polyurethane flooring can be applied with a smooth finish, or with a spatter-coat or aggregate surface. Depending on job site conditions and dry film requirements, all systems will require two or three separate coats. Apply successive coats perpendicular to the previous one to ensure positive coverage and uniform film build. All surfaces must be uniformly coated, and free from voids, pinholes, and blisters. Allow each coat of FLOORFORT PU to dry tack-free, which typically takes a minimum of 4 hours, before applying an additional coat.
