TEMP SHIELD Elastomeric Radiation Control Coating is a high-performance thermal insulation coating designed to reduce heat transfer and improve energy efficiency. This advanced thermal insulation paint is a liquid ceramic coating formulated with premium acrylic resins, high-quality ceramic microspheres, and silica particles encapsulated in a durable latex emulsion.

The thermal insulation coating dries by evaporation to form a tough, velvety, non-yellowing, water-repellent surface with excellent abrasion resistance and long-term UV stability. When applied directly over rusted metal surfaces, this thermal insulation paint converts iron oxide into stable iron phosphate, effectively preventing further corrosion.

The ceramic particles within the thermal insulation coating help dissipate radiant heat, significantly lowering indoor temperatures and reducing cooling costs. TEMP SHIELD thermal insulation paint also forms a seamless, watertight membrane and can be tinted using universal tints, limited to light pastel shades. The use of black pigmentation is not recommended, as it may affect thermal performance.

Application

Surfaces must be clean, dry, and structurally sound before application of this thermal insulation coating. Remove all dust, dirt, oil, grease, tar, loose particles, and mill film thoroughly to ensure proper adhesion of the thermal insulation paint. TEMP SHIELD Elastomeric Radiation Control Coating can be applied using airless spray equipment, brush, or roller. Apply evenly without excessive build-up to achieve uniform coverage. Multiple coats are recommended to obtain a total wet film thickness of approximately 300 microns (0.3 mm), ensuring effective thermal insulation performance and long-term durability.
